Installing your heavy-duty wind straps
Wind straps are the upgrade for exposed parking: open lots, coastal streets and anywhere gusts get under a cover. They go on over the fitted cover in about a minute, no tools, and work with every cover we sell.
Fit the cover first. Wind straps go on last, over the cover, after the built-in front and rear straps are already clipped.
The install, start to finish
1–2 minutes, 1 person. Straps, buckles and protectors are all included.
Lay one strap across the cover about a third of the way back from the front, so it crosses the roofline and hangs evenly on both sides.
Slide or toss the buckle end under the vehicle to the other side. On a low car it helps to feed it through with the tail.
Click the buckle together at the side of the vehicle, on the fabric and never against paint, then pull the tail until the strap sits snug and the cover dimples slightly.
Fit the second strap a third of the way forward from the rear, cinch it, then walk around once: no slack, no flapping edges.
The don'ts that keep cover and vehicle perfect
Removal & storage
Press the buckle release, pull the strap out from under the vehicle, and roll each strap around its buckle so the pair stays untangled in the cover’s storage bag.
Make sure the cover is completely dry before you put it in the bag. A damp cover in a closed bag will grow mildew.
Cleaning
Wipe the webbing with a damp cloth and mild soap when it picks up road grime, and let it air-dry before storage. Grit on a strap works like sandpaper on the cover under it.

Quick answers
Do wind straps replace the built-in straps?+
No, they add to them. The built-in front and rear straps handle everyday weather; wind straps anchor the cover across the middle where gusts try to balloon it. Use both together in exposed spots.
How tight should they be?+
Cinch until the strap is snug and the cover dimples slightly under it. If the fabric is stretched drum-tight or the seams pull, back it off: the strap should stop the cover moving, not crush it.
Will the straps or buckles scratch my paint?+
Not when fitted right. The webbing lies on the cover, never on bare paint, and the buckle should be positioned at the side of the vehicle where it rests on fabric. If a buckle lands on a painted edge, rotate the strap until it does not.
Do they fit every cover and vehicle?+
Yes. The straps are independent of the cover, so they work with every grade we sell, on cars, trucks, SUVs, limousines and hearses. On a stretch limousine, use the pair toward the front and rear thirds of the body.
